The Role

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Shipper is a key player in keeping our Logistics Department running, and ensuring we are able to meet customer requirements in a fast-paced, “just-in-time” environment.

1. Ensure the safe operation of lift trucks in the shipping/receiving area.

2. Pick product for shipments in FIFO order.

3. Ensure that staged shipments exactly match paperwork and meet customer requirements.

4. Ensure that loaded shipments exactly match paperwork and meet customer requirements.

5. Ensure that all Finished Goods are handled, moved and, stored in such a way as to prevent product damage or deterioration.

6. Ensure that all shortages noted while staging shipments are communicated to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

7. Ensure that all shipping discrepancies are communicated to the Shipping Co-ordinator/Shipping Supervisor, so that the packing slip, and ASN’s are accurate.

8. Perform other related duties as instructed by management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following...

  • Ensure the safe operation of lift trucks in the shipping/receiving area.
  • Shipping: Provide direction and supervision to shipping personnel and ensure that all personnel engaged in the shipping function are properly trained for their assignments. Along with the Logistics Manager provide the necessary resources required to perform all functions as listed in the individual job descriptions for shipping personnel
  • Cycle Counting: Provide direction and supervision to cycle counting personnel and ensure that all personnel engaged in the cycle counting function are properly trained for their assignments. Along with the Logistics Manager provide the necessary resources required to perform all functions as listed in the individual job descriptions for receiving personnel.
  • Ensure the accurate creation of daily pick lists reflecting required shipments.
  • Ensure product is picked for shipments in FIFO order.
  • Ensure that loaded shipments exactly match paperwork and meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure that all receipts are received in good order and are moved to proper locations, in FIFO order.
  • Ensure that all products is handled, moved and, stored in such a way as to prevent product damage or deterioration.

The Role

We currently have an opening for a Set-Up Technician, reporting to the Shift Supervisor. The successful candidate will build upon their present knowledge/experience in injection moulding and will be required to perform duties including, but not limited to:

  • Set-up and start-up of molding machine, auxiliary equipment, tooling as specified on the set-up master.
  • Ensuring processes are running within the tolerances of the set up master
  • Notifying the Shift Supervisor of any processes outside of tolerances specified or nonconforming processes.
  • Documenting all set-up changes outside the tolerances of the set-up master.
  • Verifying color feeders are set to set up master and products produced meet quality standards.
  • Adhering to all relevant Safety Procedures: lock-out/tag-out, equipment inspection, etc.

Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate must have a good basic understanding of the injection moulding process, and have well-developed mechanical/technical abilities. They must be eager to learn and attend training courses, as this is a requirement of the position. The position also requires that the successful candidate be in good physical condition, with the ability to climb into tight places, underneath machines and on top of machines. They will need to be a very quality-conscious team member, and be dedicated to working in a neat, organized and efficient manner.

The successful candidate must be flexible in working hours and shift and be willing to work overtime when necessary; we are currently recruiting for the Night Shift (11:00pm-7:00am).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • The Shift Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager or Production Manager. The position is responsible for organizing all assigned resources to produce products according to the current schedule, and according to the approved quality standard.
  • The Supervisor must be aware at all times of any deviation from the current schedule, and will take appropriate action to either correct the shortfall, or advise the Plant Manager and Scheduler if the required corrective action exceeds their authority or available resources.
  • The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that parts are produced which meet the approved “First-off’s” and is conforming to established quality standards. Verify all processes are stable and within tolerances outlined in the QIR
  • On the off shifts, personnel are responsible to the Shift Supervisor, and the Supervisor will assign, organize and direct all resources to whatever activity is required in the pursuit of the above over-riding priorities. Ensures that the shift production report form is filled out correctly.
  • The Supervisor will provide the leadership needed on the shop floor to ensure high productivity, morale and safety. In particular, a consistently high standard of housekeeping must be maintained at all times. The Supervisor is a key player in helping to effect the necessary changes on the shop floor on an ongoing basis. Ensure that only trained individuals are assigned to work cell or other plant duties.
  • The Supervisor will work closely with the Plant Manager or Production Manager and Human Resource Manager to ensure that appropriate skills are being hired, appropriate training being conducted, and proper disciplinary actions taken to control absenteeism and unacceptable conduct.

The Role

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Material Handler is a key player in keeping our production floor running, and ensuring we are able to meet customer requirements in a fast-paced, “just-in-time” environment. Cooperation with Machine Operators, Cell Leaders, Supervisors and Set-Up Technicians is essential for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Forklift operation
  • Keeping all production equipment supplied with the correct materials
  • Keeping Machine Operators supplied with components and packaging
  • Maintaining cleanliness on the plant floor
  • Grinding of scrap materials, including emptying and cleaning grinders
  • Transporting finished product to the appropriate staging area
  • Anticipating and preparing for all actions that prevent the occurrence of product, process and quality system non-conformance

Minimum Requirements

  • Forklift experience is required
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attendance

Description of Position

The Assembly Operator will support our production activities performing manual assembly duties in coordination with industrial assembly fixtures and molding machines. This position is accountable for the quality of the products produced in the work station and for reading and understanding the operator instructions at the work station.
