The Role

Our Mitchell Plastics Kitchener facility is looking for Material Handlers. The Material Handler is a key player in keeping our production floor running and ensuring we are able to meet customer requirements in a fast-paced, “just-in-time” environment. Cooperation with Machine Operators, Cell Leaders, Supervisors and Set-Up Technicians is essential for this position.

The Role

We currently have an opening for a Set-Up Technician, reporting to the Shift Supervisor. The successful candidate will build upon their present knowledge/experience in injection moulding and will be required to perform duties including, but not limited to:

  • Set-up and start-up of molding machine, auxiliary equipment, tooling as specified on the set-up master.
  • Ensuring processes are running within the tolerances of the set up master
  • Notifying the Shift Supervisor of any processes outside of tolerances specified or nonconforming processes.
  • Documenting all set-up changes outside the tolerances of the set-up master.
  • Verifying color feeders are set to set up master and products produced meet quality standards.
  • Adhering to all relevant Safety Procedures: lock-out/tag-out, equipment inspection, etc.

Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate must have a good basic understanding of the injection moulding process, and have well-developed mechanical/technical abilities. They must be eager to learn and attend training courses, as this is a requirement of the position. The position also requires that the successful candidate be in good physical condition, with the ability to climb into tight places, underneath machines and on top of machines. They will need to be a very quality-conscious team member, and be dedicated to working in a neat, organized and efficient manner.

The Role

Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, the Shipper is responsible for the accurate staging of shipments as per customer requirements, preparing shipping documentation, loading and unloading trucks, etc. This position requires picking orders, use of a scan gun, assistance in keeping the finished goods area organized and clean, and forklift driving in a fast-paced environment. Duties & Responsibilities
  • The Mold Tech will be responsible for preparing and staging material in accordance with the production schedule and supervisor direction to meet production requirements without downtime. This requirement includes blending materials using blender as needed.
  • Responsible for raw material delivery to machines using portable white bins, Gaylord’s, bags, or other containers, ensuring no cross contamination takes place by properly confirming all materials before adding them to containers or dryers.
  • Responsible for ensuring dryer temperature settings are set to meet the required temperature for all materials to be used in production.
  • Responsible to complete the cleaning of granulators, hoppers, machines, and areas around machines during setup or troubleshooting activities.
  • Responsible to perform color changes as needed and start the machine for production following the correct guidelines.
  • Responsible for setup of entire production area, making sure all products, or containers in WIP ques, and every station are in FIFO, order, and organized during the setup process.
  • Set-up machines according to production plans by following production procedures and quality procedures, confirming all required packaging and items are present at startup.
  • Attach all auxiliary equipment to molds and machines as required during setup and staging activities to prevent downtime.
  • Start molding machines according to set-up condition sheets and any special instructions.

Our team is seeking a skilled and experience CNC Mould Programmer with experience in the Automotive Industry. The ideal candidate will have a key understanding of Quality and Environmental Management Systems, knowledge of shop machining equipment, and strong math skills.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Programming and CNC cutting to said specification of all math data tooling files assigned to him in the most time effective manner
  • Programming and CNC cutting of any engineering changes requested by different departments on new and existing tooling
  • Documenting all electrodes and the development of set up sheets for all electrodes he has programmed and cut
  • Measuring and approve all electrodes he/she has programmed and cut before they can be released to the EDM department
  • Recording all worked done and allocating them to the appropriate job number

The Role

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Shipper is a key player in keeping our Logistics Department running, and ensuring we are able to meet customer requirements in a fast-paced, “just-in-time” environment.

1. Ensure the safe operation of lift trucks in the shipping/receiving area.

2. Pick product for shipments in FIFO order.

3. Ensure that staged shipments exactly match paperwork and meet customer requirements.

4. Ensure that loaded shipments exactly match paperwork and meet customer requirements.

5. Ensure that all Finished Goods are handled, moved and, stored in such a way as to prevent product damage or deterioration.

6. Ensure that all shortages noted while staging shipments are communicated to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

7. Ensure that all shipping discrepancies are communicated to the Shipping Co-ordinator/Shipping Supervisor, so that the packing slip, and ASN’s are accurate.

8. Perform other related duties as instructed by management.

The Role

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Material Handler is responsible for supporting production with the movement of work station supplies and packaging. This position requires organization, lifting and walking. There is very little forklift driving with this position but forklift certification is required for those times when it is necessary. The Material Handler will also clean and prepare machines to receive bulk material used in production. The Material Handler is a key player in keeping our Logistics Department running, and ensuring we are able to meet production requirements in a fast-paced, “just-in-time” environment.

  • Responsible for the troubleshooting and repairs to hot runner and valve gate systems in the injection moulds;
  • Involved with the diagnostics and improvements to tooling and the processes;

We are currently looking to fill this position on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri evening). The Maintenance Technician will perform machinery repair and troubleshoot problems. Our plant equipment includes: plastic injection molding machines, robots and assembly fixtures. This position will perform extensive and in-depth preventive maintenance checks and service as scheduled. Provide support for new projects and follow PM plan to maintain new equipment according to the manufacturers recommendations, help maintain inventory of all needed maintenance supplies and keep track of spare stock of maintenance items. Additionally, provide guidance and training in the areas of maintenance safety procedures, preventive maintenance, machine and equipment troubleshooting, and provide specific instruction and leadership in task completion. You will have an Electrical, HVAC or Maintenance degree or its equivalent in demonstrable experience, must have above average understanding and experience in electronics, a minimum of one-year experience. industrial or machine maintenance experience, able to read and understand electric, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical drawings and capable of completing projects with limited supervision.
