The Role

We currently have an opening for a Materials Manager, based out of our Kitchener location, reporting to the General Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and monitor all Material Planning, Purchasing and Customer Service activities
  • Oversee all Shipping and Receiving warehouse activities
  • Manage customer accounts as it relates to current business and new opportunities
  • Work closely with Management, Production Supervisors, Schedulers and Customer Service to avoid line shortages or missed shipments
  • Control, verification, storage and maintenance of customer-supplied items for incorporation into the final product, including advising the customer of any non-conforming product or damage to customer-supplied materials
  • Establish, document and evaluate training for employees within the Logistics department, including updating and revising relevant procedures, and ensuring all Customer Manuals are current and reviewed by Logistics team members
  • Participate and follow the strategic directions as established by the General Manager, Director of Purchasing and Logistics and Senior Management Team

Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a Manufacturing or relatable environment, preferably with Automotive JIT experience
  • A post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or Logistics-related field
  • Experience with OEMs is considered an asset - Ford, Toyota, FCA
  • 3-5 years of management experience preferred
  • A proven track record of negotiating with suppliers/customers, which has resulted in favourable outcomes
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills; experience maintaining a high-performing team with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong and effective communication techniques with all levels of the organization

We are currently looking to fill this position on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri evening). The Maintenance Technician will perform machinery repair and troubleshoot problems. Our plant equipment includes: plastic injection molding machines, robots and assembly fixtures. This position will perform extensive and in-depth preventive maintenance checks and service as scheduled. Provide support for new projects and follow PM plan to maintain new equipment according to the manufacturers recommendations, help maintain inventory of all needed maintenance supplies and keep track of spare stock of maintenance items. Additionally, provide guidance and training in the areas of maintenance safety procedures, preventive maintenance, machine and equipment troubleshooting, and provide specific instruction and leadership in task completion. As a key team member at our plant, the Process Technician responsibilities include: Mold changes on injection molding machines ranging from 80 to 1100 tons; Process Starts to parameters of master set up sheet; Approval via first piece qualification for production product.
